Community Pass
Sleepy Hollow residents can now register for recreation programs online. The village is proud to announce that we have made Community Pass available to our customers. At this time, we are encouraging families to create their own Community Pass account by going to the general registration page, and then type in the name of our organization which is Village of Sleepy Hollow, NY. Once your account is created, you will receive an e-mail that contains your log in information.
When the recreation department adds programs that require registration, they will be listed so individuals can choose the activity and register. Residents will be able to securely register for programs conveniently from home or work by using their computer or smart phones. Another advantage of this recreation software program is the department will be able to develop a data base of e-mail addresses from our customers in order to better publicize our programs and events. More benefits of this new registration program will continue to be advertised as we proceed. If you have any questions, call the recreation department at 366-5109.
Barnhardt Park Community Garden
The Barnhardt Park Community Food Garden opened in July of 2025 after over a year of planning. The Sleepy Hollow Parks and Recreation Department manages this new facility which is perfect for growing vegetables, flowers, herbs and friendships! 26 beds for village residents are available to "rent" for the season. Only paid members are permitted to use the garden. The garden includes running water, a storage shed for your tools and a workbench table. Garden beds are available seasonally and must be renewed each year. All members are responsible for caring and maintaining their own garden beds.
Special thanks to The Sleepy Hollow Local Development Corp., Village of Sleepy Hollow DPW and Parks Department staff, Community Liaison Diana Loja, Jack Algiere from Stone Barns, Community Garden Committee Members led by resident Marjorie Hsu and Recreation Superintendent Matt Arone for all their hard work to see this program through.
To get an application and to become a member, download the applications and garden rules below or stop by the Galgano Senior Center at 55 Elm Street during regular business hours.

Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse
Note: Westchester County Parks Dept. operates the lighthouse as of fall 2024. The Lighthouse in Sleepy Hollow was built in 1883 in response to pleas by local steamship companies for assistance in navigating dangerous shoals. It was a critical guide for Hudson River shipping. The Lighthouse is a cast iron “sparkplug” lighthouse, whose superstructure rests on concrete and metal caisson and is the only conical steel structure in Westchester to include living quarters for its keepers, which housed eight keepers and their families when it was active. Once the Tappan Zee Bridge was built, the lighthouse was considered obsolete and taken out of service in 1961. Parking fees at Kingsland Park: $5 for Sleepy Hollow residents or with county park pass; $10 without Pass. Kingsland Point Park is best parking. Tours: Curator-led tours are available by registration only on Eventbrite when available. Tour is free; parking fees may apply. Phone: (914) 862-5297
