Barnhardt Park Community Garden

The Barnhardt Park Community Food Garden opened in late summer of 2025 after over a year of planning. The Sleepy Hollow Parks and Recreation Department manages this new facility which is perfect for growing vegetables, flowers, herbs and friendships! 26 beds for village residents are available to "rent" seasonally (as only paid members are permitted to use the garden). There is a modest $30 fee for the 2026 season.

The garden includes running water, a storage shed for tools and a workbench table. Garden beds are available seasonally and must be renewed each year. All members are responsible for caring and maintaining their own garden beds.

Special thanks to The Sleepy Hollow Local Development Corp., Village of Sleepy Hollow DPW and Parks Department staff, Community Liaison Diana Loja, Jack Algiere from Stone Barns, Community Garden Committee Members, and Recreation Superintendent Matt Arone for all their hard work to see this program through.

Application and garden rules will be posted below starting on March 9, 2026.  You can also stop by the Galgano Senior Center at 55 Elm Street during regular business hours to pick up an application any time after March 9. .
