Viaduct Demolition by Sessler Wrecking

Demolition Prep

  • Temporary structural supports installed
  • Vegetation removed from above and below structure
  • Protective tarps installed at the MNR overhang
  • Portion of deck saw-cut to prep for removal

Week 1

  • Concrete deck panels removed from the structure and staged for removal of rebar
  • Saw-cutting completed, approximately 30% of concrete removed

Week 2

  • 100% of the concrete deck removed from the structure
  • Concrete panels crushed to separate rebar from concrete

Week 3

  • Concrete debris collected from under the viaduct
  • Steel superstructure precut to prep for steel removal
  • Concrete rubble and boulder stockpiles run through the crusher for reuse on-site under future project phases

Week 4

  • 250 Ton mobile crane mobilized to site
  • Approximately 40% complete steel removal

Week 5

  • Viaduct Demolition Complete
  • Site Cleanup and Contractor Demobilization
