Revised June 26 2020; State of Emergency in the Village of Sleepy Hollow Until Further Notice, Click here to read up to date information,

March 17, 2020
Update:  June 26, 2020

Dear neighbors:
It is important that we work together as a community to fight this virus. An essential element in that effort is to limit our social interactions. It may seem counterintuitive that in order to work together we have to stay apart, but that is exactly what we need to do.

In support of these measures and in recognition of this disruption to our lives, the Village is:
1) Suspending alternate sides and meter parking ( You must still park legally!)

2) Groups of 25 or more people are prohibited in all parks.  Please wear facial masks and practice social distance.

3) Village Hall is closed to the general public until further notice.
Please submit any payments and/or transactions and/or permit applications by mail or drop off in locked box outside of Village Hall.
Visit our website for information on how to obtain a permit or how to contact the department you need.  You may also call 366-5100

4) The Galgano Senior Center is closed to all events including all senior events, our after school program and bingo. Delivery by our meals-on-wheels program will continue, and the senior bus will continue to be available.

5) UPDATE:  Landscapers may continue maintenance work.  (Must have Village permit)
***ALL leaf blowers are banned from use in the Village of Sleepy Hollow until further notice***

Having lawns completely cleared of leaves is not essential.  What is essential is that we maintain as healthy an environment as possible. Please, please adhere to this new rule for the health and safety of our community.

In addition, pursuant to the NYS executive Law, Article 2-B, section 24, I Ken Wray, Mayor and Chief Executive of the Village of Sleepy Hollow, hereby declare a State of Emergency, effective 9:00am, on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, which will remain in effect until further notice. This will enable us to enforce the actions I’ve outlined above and to take other measures as needed to protect the health and the wellbeing of our community.  Our police officers, fire department and ambulance corps are on the job and are prepared. They will continue to deal with this emerging crisis and are coordinating with other first responders throughout the county. Please note that DPW has changed its schedule, please refer to the home page for the most updated schedule changes, or call 366-5106 for questions.

As always, we owe thanks to our dedicated Village staff who will continue to work during this extraordinary time. I want to acknowledge the leadership of NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo and Westchester County Executive George Latimer; their collaborative and aggressive efforts to get in front of this virus have been welcome. Please, do not hesitate to contact me or Anthony Giaccio as you stay healthy and safe.
