LADDER 38 RETIRES AFTER MORE THEN 20 YEARS OF SERVICE.... BUT NOT FOR GOOD!

Ladder 38 of Sleepy Hollow

After over 20 years of dedicated service to the Village of Sleepy Hollow, Ladder 38 of Pocantico Hook & Ladder, has retired.... but not for good!  Last year, attempts to sell this 1995 Stuphen Ladder were unsuccessful, and so the Sleepy Hollow Fire Deptartment along with the Village Board decided to donate it to a much needed community.  Port-Au Prince, Haiti, represented by native Paul Desdunds, a State Trooper here in Westchester County, will be the new home to this fine Ladder.  Port-au-Prince is the capital and most populous city of Haiti. The city's population was estimated at over 900,000 in 2015 with the metropolitan area estimated at a population of over 2,600,000.  We all know the devastation throughout Haiti over the  recent years, this Ladder will help save many lives in the future.  The Village of Sleepy Hollow proudly presents Ladder 38 to its new home, along with special thanks to John Stiloski, of Stiloski's Towing, for donating the new lettering and for transporting the Ladder to the ship that will bring this Fire Truck across the ocean!
