The U.S. Army Corps of Engineer, the States of New York and New Jersey, the City of New York welcome your attendance at public meetings. Tuesday, March 12th, 2019, 5-7pm. Westchester County Center, 198 Central Avenue, White Plains, NY 10606.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) New York District, and partner agencies requests public input regarding the NY & NJ Harbors and Tributaries Study.

USACE New York District, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), and the City of New York (NYC) will host eight (8) public meetings for the New York and New Jersey Harbor & Tributaries Study (NYNJHATS).

Historical storms have severely impacted the New York New Jersey Harbor region. There  is a need for long term regional planning for coastal resiliency in the face of significant and growing flood risk, which is expected to be exacerbated by sea level rise.  The study team has prepared an Interim Report to be released on February 19, 2019, which presents an array of alternative concepts to respond to coastal storm risk, based on existing information along with preliminary estimates and environmental considerations, and to identify data gaps, key uncertainties, and factors that warrant further investigation because of their potential to affect the plan selection.  The Interim Report is an informational document to invite public and agency feedback on the planning process so far, which will guide future investigations needed for tentative plan selection in the upcoming draft report in 2020.

USACE, the States of New York and New Jersey, and the City of New York welcome your attendance at public meetings to discuss the Interim Report.
