When do you need an Electrical Permit?

An Electrical Permit shall be required for any work which must conform to the Uniform Code and/ or Electrical Code including, but not limited to, the wiring of any device or equipment for the transmission, distribution or utilization of electrical energy or light, power, heat or air conditioning in or on any building or structure and on any premises, nor shall any alteration or addition be made in any such existing wiring devices or equipment without first securing a permit. All electrical work must be performed by a Westchester County Licensed Contractor.

No permit shall be required for replacing switches, receptacles and fuses.
