Recreation & Parks Department

January 16, 2024

Dear Residents, It was discovered by village staff that prior to last weekend’s snow, residents removed the protective fencing around the new trees on the hill at Douglas Park.  This was done without permission from the village.

The fencing is village property and put there to protect the trees from damage so they continue to grow properly.

The village asks our residents to please respect the rules and regulations of the parks and refrain from removing the fencing or any other village owned park equipment in the future.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Sleepy Hollow residents can now register for recreation programs online.  The village is proud to announce that we have made Community Pass available to our customers.  At this time, we are encouraging families to create their own Community Pass account by going to the general registration page, https://register.communitypass.net and then type in the name of our organization which is Village of Sleepy Hollow, NY.  Once your account is created, you will receive an e-mail that contains your log in information.  When the recreation department adds programs that require registration, they will be listed so individuals can choose the activity and register.  Residents will be able to securely register for programs conveniently from home or work by using their computer or smart phones.  Another advantage of this recreation software program is the department will be able to develop a data base of e-mail addresses from our customers in order to better publicize our programs and events.  More benefits of this new registration program will continue to be advertised as we proceed.  If you have any questions, call the recreation department at 366-5109.
