HELP FIGHT CRIME

REPORT CRIME ANONYMOUSLY THROUGH THE CITIZEN OBSERVER TIP411 HOTLINE.

How to submit a tip:

Anyone with a smartphone, tablet, standard cell phone or computer can text in a tip to their local police department.

To contact the Sleepy Hollow Police Department, use the keyword VSHPD.

  1. Access online by going to www.citizenobserver.com

  2. By text: from your cell phone/smart phone:

    1. Enter in Message section VSHPD followed by your message, (then)

    2. Send your message To: 847411 (TIP411)

      FOR AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE OR ALWAYS IN AN EMERGENCY DIAL 911

      1. What Tip411 does:

      2. Protects the anonymity of the sender by assigning a six-digit code with numbers and letters

      3. Messages can be responded to in real time creating an instant two-way live ‘chat’

      4. It allows the public to text photos or video to the police anonymously

        What tip411 does not do:

      5. It does not track the identity of the tipster

      6. It is NOT a substitute for calling 911. If you need police or other emergency responders you still should call 911
